Samuel Benally Jr. was at an apartment on West Tacoma Street when he said guns should be kept unloaded because people could point them at their heads, said Sierra Vista police Sgt. Brett Mitchell.
Benally then demonstrated by putting his own 9mm Ruger, which he believed to be unloaded, to his head and firing it, Mitchell said.
LOL.
The most incredible, amazingly unexpected thing just happened to me not even an hour ago.
My boyfriend and I were picking up random items at K-Mart, shopping alongside a man in a yellow t-shirt. We even made our way to the checkouts at the same time as this man, and made friendly eye contact “hellos” to one another. I pay for my items and right as we’re leaving the electronic doors, I’m approched by this man in the yellow t-shirt.
Him: Excuse me mamm’?
Me: Yes?
Him: Please don’t ask me any questions about this… *pause*
Him: But the lord told me to do this.
The man then handed me something small and immediately turned and walked away without a further thought. I looked down into my palm and immediately realized it was money, but it was folded in such a way that I couldn’t tell the amount on the bill. I unfolded it and was shocked to find out that it was a $100 bill. I immediately shot my head up to protest, in utter shock, but the only thing that managed to come out of my mouth was “thank you” in almost a whisper, so low he undoubtedly didn’t hear me. I was in such shock that I couldn’t even move, and he made it to his car in record time anyway, as if to avoid a confrontation. My boyfriend and I just stood there, holding up customer traffic, not really quite sure what to do next.
We eventually made it to my car and inspected the bill, not being able to determine if it was authentic, given we couldn’t find the transparent seal. I feel badly about this now, but being the world we live in today, it is extremely rare for people to perform such random acts of kindness, and I did suspect foul play. I didn’t know this man or where this money came from, or whether it was obtained illegally. So I drove to the bank and asked the manager if she could tell me whether this bill was authentic. And, of course, it was.
Now, I am not a Christian, nor have I lived a particularly Christian lifestyle. But I do consider myself spiritual and believe in the laws of attraction. I know $100 is not considered a lot of money in the grand scheme of things, but at this particular moment, I really needed it. Really, really needed it. And I don’t know what this was. Whatever it was, a divine intervention, a delusional Christian, a criminal act, or just one of the few good people left in the world.. I am truly grateful.
I don’t feel right spending all of the money on myself. I have decided to pay it forward and donate half of it to a charity of my choice. I’ve been considering the Humane Society or the Red Cross, surely they can find some way to put the money to use. And I want this man’s kind deed to keep giving and giving. I also feel that this experience, as small as it may seem to others, has enhanced my faith in humanity a bit, and I’m making a conscious vow to perform my own random acts of kindness as often as possible.
Thank you, whoever you are. You have no idea how much I needed this inspiration and your kindness.
